HAPPY PEOPLE ALLOW THE LORD TO BE THEIR GOD

Image
The road to genuine happiness begins with faith that God is here. No unbeliever can rejoicefully say, “Thank God I am an unbeliever.” “ Happy are the people whose God is their Lord ! ” (Ps 144:15). It’s true. “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God” (Psalm 146:5). “... whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he” (Proverbs 16:20). The dictionary reveals arrogance is pride, egotism, and inflated self-importance, while confidence is the state of being certain. When an arrogant person grates you, however, you’re not thinking about the technical nuances between confidence and arrogance. You simply feel it. Pastors should preach boldly and lead confidently. The foundation of Scripture gives this assurance. But when church leaders begin to rely on their own abilities, arrogance builds, especially when the church grows. Arrogance is the catalyst for building your own kingdom instead of God’s kingdom. How can you tell when confidence is slipping into arrogance? Constant defensiveness . Every leader has moments of defensiveness. After all, leaders receive more attention—and thus more blame—for the decisions they make. But when the default reaction to criticism become

4 THINGS EVERY WIFE DESIRES FROM HER HUSBAND. Husbands, let’s rise to these challenges and love our wives well! Your marriage not only impacts your wife, but your children and future generations. By how you love your wife, you are teaching your sons how to treat women and you are teaching your daughters what they should expect from men. Let’s commit to giving our wives and families our very best! This is not a comprehensive list, but here are four things most women desire from their husbands: 1. Open, honest, consistent communication. Communication does for a marriage what breathing does for your lungs. Be willing to turn off ESPN and put your iPhone down and engage in meaningful conversation. Never hide anything from her! Build a foundation of trust, honesty and open communication. Every one of your words and every action is either building more of her trust or eroding her trust in you. Remove distractions and make communication a high priority. 2. Protec
